Purse Shopping: Mulberry Alice Zippered Tote

Shopping for purses is one of my favorite and therapeutic moments.  I always enjoy shopping for bags and my husband loves calling me a bag lady and I don't mind being call that.  Originally I wanted the Kate Spade Cedar Maise Bag in Navy color, but decided to get something better for myself.  Even though I don't own a lot of high end bags, I certainly enjoy something simple and durable ones.  This is my first biggest purchase that I ever brought and I was contemplating on the color whether it was right for me or not.  I decided to take the plunge on getting it because it was on sale and I also own a lot of other neutral color purses.  I want something fun and I do love the color rose petal.  I recently purchased the Mulberry Alice Zippered Tote because I know that this brand sell high quality leather and secondly it is not too flashy with their logo.

I'm pretty happy with my purchase and can't wait to use it in the long run.  The bag is a bit small but since I'm more in a petite frame I prefer on getting a small bag rather than a bigger size.  Also I think the color is stunning and as long I can put all my daily essential items in this bag I'm good to go.

My Current Wishlist

MULBERRY ALICE ZIPPED TOTE - ROSE PETAL
I'm currently obsessing over this pink bag and I always wanted a pink bag.  I notice I have way to many neutral bags and  I wanted something fun but yet simple.  A little bit over the Christmas holiday Mulberry had a sale, so I went and checked to see what's available.  I saw this Mulberry Alice Zipped Tote that caught my attention and was debating if I should spend a little extra on this bag.  I think I deserve to love myself once in awhile but then a two weeks after I checked this bag was no longer available online. The sale section was gone, so I was bummed out that I didn't get it.  Trust me when you see something you like and wanna to treat yourself (The heart wants what it wants - Selena Gomez) you should go for it.

Have you regretted something so much when you didn't get to purchase something you really want?

Cook Book: Maangchi's Real Korean Cooking

I was beyond thrill when receiving this book and I can't wait to look through the recipes.  There are times I tend enjoy cooking a meal at home rather than going out to eat.  This helps me not to over eat and also watch out my portion control.  I try to emphasize on my diet control here on my blog a lot, because it's a good way to remind me to try to stay healthier and eating healthier.  Recently I decided to make Korean Fried Chicken for my family and friends.  We have a tendency to order Korean Fried Chicken when we go out to eat, but it can get pretty expensive. Instead I decided to make my own version of it.  I normally don't always fried stuff, I only fried stuff for special occasions.  My outcome of my Korean Fried Chicken came out pretty well and my family and friends really enjoyed.  I hope to make more Korean dishes in the long run and reading Maangchi's book is a great way to start for me.

Krupa Grocery

P.E.I Mussels [Lamb Pancetta, Fermented Chili Paste, Leeks, Gruner Velitiner]
Over the weekend my family and I visited a new restaurant at prospect park, Brooklyn.  Our initial intention was to try out a Asian Fusion Chinese restaurant; however, it was closed that day.  Instead we tried this restaurant called Krupa Grocery.  I assure you that this place is not a grocery store, it's a trendy and unique restaurant that serves rustic type of food from lamb burgers to P.E.I mussels.  I always have a tendency to order seafood because it's one of my favorite dish on the list.  I decided to order the, P.E.I Mussels [Lamb Pancetta, Fermented Chili Paste, Leeks Gruner Velitiner], the hearty fermented chili paste was a bit spicy but that didn't stop me from finishing it and let me tell you I enjoyed every bite of it. Highly recommend this dish if you do visit this place.  This place has very comfortable seating indoor and outdoor.  I'm glad I had the opportunity to sit outside on a warm sunny day a high of 60's on a month of Dec.  As for my husband he ordered the Sunny side up with spinach and artichoke on toast & Crispy wings with Alabama white BBQ sauce

Very enjoyable lunch I had and I personally think you should try this place as well if you ever stop by Prospect Park, Brooklyn one day.

Tips: On Losing Weight

I never knew that I was overweight when I was in my late 20's, until I saw some of my haunting pics how obese I was.  I was always constantly in denial and always eating a huge portion when I could have substitute for smaller portions.  Also I always had huge sweet cravings that makes it harder to lose the weight. My will power of dieting was extremely hard because of my busy schedule with work and going to school at the same time.  I never had the time to incorporate to join a gym and to exercise on a daily basis. I hope I can provide you some tips on how I lost my weight by cutting off some of the things that made me gain weight.

  • • Soda - I used to love drinking Sodas; drinking sodas can really pack on the extra weight.  Instead of Sodas substitute with seltzer water, tea or water.

  • • Carbs - I tried to cut down on my carbs intake and substitute with veggie.  I recently purchased a Paderno Spiralizer 4-Blade and used Zucchini as the pasta base instead.
  •
  • • Exercising - I decided to join a gym and joined a couple of races.  That really helped me to lose the extra pounds.
  •
  • • Moderation on food that you intake: I cut out a lot of sweets such as: cakes, cookies, pies etc - substitute with peanuts, walnuts, almond or pistachio for snack.  If you still like sweets incorporate with fruits instead.

  • • Determination - Trust me it wasn't easy for me to lose weight as well, it took me a long time to really lose the weight that I am now.  I always made a new year resolution that I will lose weight but it wasn't helping even if I ate smaller portion or skipping meals. I didn't lose the weight up until I really started to exercise.  Exercising and watching what you eat is really important, but overall don't over work yourself.  Your health is really important and listen to your body, take it easy.  I did it by doing baby steps.  I wasn't aiming for fast result in losing weight, it's matter of time and patience.

Also having a buddy system can make dieting or exercising fun.  I have a few friends who enjoy running, so I tagged a long whenever we are having a race.  I hope some of these tips helps motivate you in some ways and good luck on your dieting journey.
